This lounge chair is designed
to be comfortable without upholstery.

The frame is constructed of oak boards shaped via CNC and connected with lap joints. The seat and back are composed of curved slats of birds-eye maple. The slats are shaped to conform to the user's body, and are each formed through bent laminations of two 1/4 inch boards. The legs are welded steel rods, providing a strong and stable platform.

The Solidworks model was a critical first-step in the manufacturing process. These files were used to CNC the oak frames, and to create the welding jigs used to manufacture the leg assembly.
